  3. 2 Chronicles 7:1-3 records God's response to the dedication of the temple. After Solomon prayed that God would arise and "come to your resting place" (6:41), fire descended, consuming the sacrifices, and the glory of the LORD filled the temple. This manifestation of God was so powerful, the priests were unable to enter the temple. The Israelites watched in awe, falling to the ground on their faces. The sight evoked them to praise God for his goodness and love.
